RED SEA

Red Sea is a meditation on resilience—vast, unwavering, and emotionally rich. Inspired by the deep ruby tones and ever-moving surface of the sea itself, the piece captures the feeling of standing before something immense and elemental. It holds both intensity and calm, echoing the way colour and texture can stir the senses and settle the soul at once.

Composed entirely in oil paint, the work is built through layered strokes applied with palette knives. Each movement across the surface sculpts the paint into peaks and valleys, creating a tactile terrain of crimson, burgundy, and ember. The pigment holds light in some places and releases it in others, giving the painting a slow, pulsing rhythm—like the sea caught mid-motion. The density of application allows the colours to blend and clash in unexpected ways, deepening the emotional register of the work.
